Hey guys.

Yesterday I turned my PC off as you usually do. Then this morning it turns on, then after a few minutes the monitor turns on but doesn’t show anything.

On my motherboards “easy debug” it says there is a problem with my GPU either being faulty or not detected. However, I have tried with a different GPU and it still doesn’t work.

I have reset CMOS, reseated my RAM and validated that it works in another computer. Along with reseating my GPU and changing PCI-e slots.

Along with this, whilst reseating my GPU I didn’t push all eight cables in for power, just six, and it told me to put them in with video out from the GPU so that’s another reason I don’t think it’s broken.

The only thing that I can think that may have caused a problem was there was a very short power cut last night (like the power switching on and off). But my pc was completely turned off, so this couldn’t have made too much of a difference.

@Jihakuz

how was your PC turned off? just a normal shut down? or turned off from the switch on the back of the PSU?

if it's just a normal shutdown then the PC is still getting power from the PSU, so something might have gotten damaged but i don't know what, it could be anything.

Yes it was a normal Windows shutdown, at this point the only two things that could have been broken are my motherboard and CPU.

did you check that your GPU is working on another computer?

i don't think the CPU is broken, it's either motherboard or GPU, most likely motherboard

you probably still have the warranty though right? if you bought it from a local store then return it and they'll probably replace it for you or atleast test it for you, or you could RMA it to the manufacturer if it's possible

I bought it from online store like Aria tech or something.

Msi support is close at weekend so I’ve ordered a new motherboard and will send it back if it doesn’t work.
