Do I 100% NEED a case? I am trying to build a pc and save money.. i can save $50 (to get a better gpu or something.. or just save it..) 50$ may not be alot.. but it is still something. I will DEFINITELY get a case for it in the near future (a few months) and I will probably build something (with cardboard, wood, etc) as a placeholder (or i might just put it on a box and point a big fan at it) is a big fan a good idea?

I plug everything in empty cardboard box after a coffee machine. It works. But I made it just for fun and using old hardware.

Problem will be with graphics card.

Most important is - if you have no money now, you may spend much more later if (for example) your PCI-E card will pull out your PCI-E connector because poor assembly.

Many people uses desks or walls to build their PC (check youtube), but it's mostly more expansive than just buying pc case.

No, a large cardboard box will do just fine... Remind me in 5 hours for an example.

Should i leave one side open and put a box fan facing it for airflow?

You can just use anything metal to short the power pins

I assume i would just look up how to use a jumper switch on a Micro ATX AM4 motherboard?

No, it isn't necessary. Cardboard works well for a test bench. A large fan can help but isn't necessary. The fans from the cpu cooler and graphics card is generally enough.

Bridging the power switch pins with a screwdriver or knife works too.

Okay thank you. I like the look of a pc without a case. It allows tou to see everything spin, if it has lights you see if flicker on and it is so satisfying. I know some cases has clear sides but then i wont see it from all angles. The fact it saves a bit of money is just one benefit. I will probably use a small desktop fan to help cool it anyways. Thanks for the pictures, it helps me understand what it should look like rather than me trying to imagine it. I appreciate it

I have PC case, but I mounted two buttons in my desk and plug into mainboard. Much better that way. :) For lazy people. :)

Why? ;) He don't want a pc case. :)

Lol i will probably just use a button as well.

Pfft. Then again, we are discussing cases (or rather, the lack of)
