IIRC, they were sketchy parts but testing proved that the 1080 Ti was similar to other more established brands but cheaper. Maybe you could get as lucky as them and get yourself a cheaper 1080? :)

Well, they didnt link the 1080, and if i serach on ALI, its just mostly 100$ brackets

And do you know if it is worth a 100 more for a TI, or are they just overrated?

If you want the best graphics apart from the $1k+ titans, then you can't beat the 1080 ti. The only real benefit over the regular 1080 is if you plan to do a lot of 4k gaming you will get better fps. With my 1080 I game at 1440p maxed out and get steady 60fps in everything, bumping up to 4k gives me ~40-45 fps. If I turn down some settings I can usually get 4k 60fps. If you are gaming at 1080p, then a regular 1080 card will be more than enough, even for high refresh rate monitors like 144hz. Hope that helps!

I hate getting mixed answers, did you ever had a 10/9 series blower and a open triple/double fan GPU?

I have ran blowers on every gen since the gyx550.  I put open air cooler are my 7,9 and 10 series. Several of each.

alright, got my answer, by a helpful vid on YouTube seems like its gonna be a blower for me

i got decent space for airflow, but not the fans required, i got an MSI case btw (codex 3) with a 50/50 broken 1050 in there hdmi and the (VGA?) ports are broken (and i bought it 3rd hands for a good deal when teh 1050 was fine)

Then I think outlining cards you should avoid buying is more useful?

1. Not the blowers. Blowers use one fan on the far right to blow air across and out from the I/O area, for example the reference 1080 from Nvidia.

2. Single fan models and MSI Armor should be avoided. Those run a bit hot and loud.

Also, keep an eye on the 1070ti. They are 5-10% slower than the 1080, but more like 15% cheaper in most cases.

Do you agree?

If you are going to be sticking with 1080p gaming for awhile then the 1080 should last you. At 1080p your cpu is more of a bottleneck then anything with a 1080. So you probably won't want a 1080 ti for that reason.

Its been a long time since I've had a blower style card, but from my experience and reviews on current blower style cards, they are a bit louder due to the fans having to spin up more to keep it cool. Dual/Triple fans tend to be quieter as the fans don't have to spin up as fast/as soon, as a blower fan. But the amount of airflow in your case can heavily effect how loud/hot your GPU will get.

So if i take a blower, its should sound more or less, since i got 2 fans going inside and 1 outside

You will most likely hear it much more than what you currently hear, but it shouldn't be deafening or anything. It might be a good idea to invest into some more/higher airflow fans to help. If you are worried about heat, then a dual/triple fan card will be your best bet.

i stripped them from my old PC they were top of the line-ish (in my area) in '13 But it still isnt optimal for my 1050 (if it gets hot and it just, idk it just fails when the fan speed is med-high, it begins to sound like my local radar testing "restricted area")

Looking at your case online, It looks like it was designed to pull in air from the front and top and to exhaust from the rear. (and for a gtx 1060 So I would make sure you have the airflow in that configuration and buy any additional fans you can fit on your case in that configuration to help, then buy a non-blower style card and enjoy :D! Also, measure! Make sure your case has enough room for a 1080, they are usually very long cards.

...? Does your case look like this? It should have vents on the sides on the front, unless they've changed the case since you've bought it.

I'd be very surprised if there were absolutely no vents to pull in air from the front. Even cases that don't open from the front have vents on the side of the front (like where #4 is pointing to). You need to pull in air that way to have it flow across your board. Either the entire front plastic shroud comes off or you get to it from the inside to install fans.
