The difference between DDR3 and DDR4 is that DDR4 sacrifices latency for higher frequencies. If you're doing video editing or other work that requires really quick memory caching or whatever, DDR3 and some Intel chip using the ring bus architecture is probably your best bet. But when you're just gaming there's no discernible difference.
