hey guys im about to grab some case fans to cool my system and help with some of the dust issues. My options are either the corsair af or sp range, bitfenix spectre and spectre pro, noiseblockers etc all from pccasegear.com. I'm not sure if i should go for 140mm intakes or 120mm as the price difference is only like 2-3 dollars per fan

If you can get either/or 120/140... then go for 140. Lower RPM = less noise = comparable air flow. There's really no question when it comes to size. Bigger is usually better.

As for WHICH specific brand of fans to get... I honestly couldn't tell you. I just recently purchased some BitFenix Spectre Pros from Newegg, but I'm still waiting for them to arrive (I don't quite understand how 4-7 day shipping translates into 14 days... but whatever).

I know a lot of people like the Corsair AF series, though.

Of course, there are always the people who would tell you to spend the extra cash on Noctuas...

Go 140mm if you have the choice.

Are you going for a certain color scheme?

i love noctuas products but by the time i add in shipping and the case filter accessories it would be nearly 100 bucks for a few fans and that

Yep. Same reason I didn't buy Noctuas. Well, that and I think they're ugly as hell... :P

I'd say I'll post what I think about my Spectre Pros when they get her, but they aren't scheduled for delivery until the 7th.  <_<

nah not really just black but i don't mind the coloured accents of the corsairs. Just don't want led fans. By the way i only have 3 system fan headers so can i use a splitter cable for some of the fans?

Alright.

Why are you getting new fans? Are your current ones not cooling enough?

well im only using the 2 stock corsair ones, a 140mm in the front and a 120mm at the top because it doesnt fit at the back due to my cpu cooler and they do an okay job but i'd like it to be a little better. I was going to grab two 140mm for the front, put the old 140mm at the top and maybe the 120mm on the side or something.

But what for? Are your current temps too high?

Well ive been reading around that its important to have a good amount of positive air flow in order to combat dust as my pc gets quite dusty so i thought some fan filters and better intake fans would help. My pc can get quite warm during like battlefield 4 and that. But this is mainly a dust issue and i thought that it would help

It doesn't actually make that much of a difference. If dust is an issue, just get dust filters for the intakes.
