So I'd like a tablet for media consumption, and for use as a drone controller.

This means I'm looking for the best battery life, and best display(500nits+ ideally for direct sunlight), and a somewhat competent processor.

I don't care about ho much onboard storage it has. I don't care if it has a sim tray. I'd like to have an sd tray(for movies - media consumption).

I don't expect to be playing any games on it whatsoever, or do anything really resource intensive.

I'd like to stay below 400$, 300$ ideally, and I want to stick with android.

p.s. the more durable the better.

iPad.

Android on Tablets is dead. It's worse in performance, Apps are worse (less good ones, and the available ones aren't much optimized for Tablet size), OS is less optimized for Tablet, MUCH lower Update support compared to even Android Smartphones, often worse Battery Life.

Some often are already "outdated" only 1 - 1,5 years after they launched.

Otherwise.... You have been warned^^"

- Huawei Mediapad M5

Good Overall device with low amount of disadvantaegs, stereo speakers, high WQXGA resolution (2560x1600), USB-C, SD-Slot, fairly modern out there - comes with Android 8.1, and should get an Update to Android 9 at least. Even tho it will come a bit late probably.

There was an Issue with HD-playback on Netflix etc (DRM Security Level blabla). Apparently on one of the last Updates it should've been fixed.. But don't take my Word for granted, as i don't have it.

It's available in 8.4" or 10.8", and the LTE Version is capable of doing real Phone Calls.

SD Slot, big Display in 16:10 with a high resolution and stereo speakers make it a good choice for Media consumption.

If it's not an iPad, this would most likely be my first Choice right now (unless you're thinking about the overpriced Samsung Galaxy Tab S4)

I should refine what I'm looking for.

> I don't care about the android version so long as its above 5.0(anything modern). My use case doesn't really have any impact from android version.

> Speakers are a non-issue. Just need a microphone jack & bluetooth(ideally aptX functionality, etc).

> Ideally something more phablet sized. 8" or so. the 8.4 I'll take a look at, but 10.8 is too large.
