To start off, I apologize if this is either a stupid question or in the wrong category. I was just wondering if when changing my processor, all I have to do is remove my cooler, take out the CPU and then reapply paste and the cooler. Or if there is anything else that I might need to do. Thanks

Make sure to clean the past before reapplying it. No need to remove your cpu. That's about it.

You'll need to clean off the thermal paste left on the cpu from the old cooler, just put some isopropyl alcohol on a microfibre cloth and rub the surface of the CPU.

Sorry if I was unclear, I meant changing the CPU.

Oh my mistake. In that case, it sounds about right. Just make sure to clean off the old paste.

How do I clear CMOS?

If there is a button labeled CMOS on your motherboard use that, if not you can take out the mobo battery for 10s and put it back again.

This and remeber to switch PSU off while doing so. And if you can't find Clear CMOS button, check on mobos manual.
