this speaker claims to be ipx5 water proof, so basically you can bring it to pool parties and splashes wont damage it (assuming these splashes are not internationally aimed towards breaking the speakers)

 

My question is can steam from taking hot showers, penetrate the tiny holes through the speakers and cause water damage?

Once the steam passes through the holes, they can condense and cause damage
