Hello,

I am trying to build my first PC, some advice will go a long way.

I did a little bit of research and come up with the following:

2x Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 8GB DDR4 3000MHz CL16  0
GIGABYTE AORUS X470 ULTRA GAMING
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz box
Seasonic Focus+, 80+ Platinum, 550W
Case: Segotep Raynor Tower T3 Black  - i have to get a couple 120mm fans for this (i was thinking 4:  2 in the front, one in the back and one on top) or NZXT Source 340 Black
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB GDDR5 192-bit
Cooler Master MasterGel Maker Nano Diamond 4g
Hard disk WD Blue 2TB SATA-III 5400 RPM 64MB

SDD Samsung 850 Evo 512Gb (i already have this)

In my country this gets me at 1270 Euro/ 1475 US dolars

What do you guys think about this?

The thermal compound is not really needed.

The memory should be bought as a 2x8GB kit. Buying individual modules, even identical parts has a small chance of not working as dual channel.

Does AMD put thermal compound in the CPU box?

Taf the Ghostm Yes, 16Gb RAM. I am not sure either of the fan layout myself. The Raynor Tower suports up to 6 fans, maybe i will max it out to get the best out of it

Usually even intake/exhaust is recommended.

So for a max of 6 fans, you'd want 3 intake, 3 exhaust. But I couldn't say much on that without knowing more about the case.

They pre apply it to the CPU cooler.

Personally i would drop a COU tier to a 2600/x and maybe get a better GPU.

If you dont want to that then; take a look at the RX 580 8GB. It is as fast as the 1060 6GB and is cheaper in quite a lot of regions. You also get freesync if you were planning on picking up one of the many freesync monitors

I want to keep this CPU...
I just checked out the RX 580 8GB price and is 20 - 30 bucks more expensive then the 1060.  I could go for 1070 which is 150 bucks more expensive then the 1060 :(

Ah, thats a bit sad. Keep the 1060 6GB unless you reeaaaaaaly want Freesync.

I already have a 2K IPS 27" monitor which dosen't have Freesync

Then there is no point spending extra. Though a 1070 will almost be a must at 1440p. Scout out the used market, a lot of people are selling their 1070 for a 1080ti or 2000 series card (even though they really shouldnt)
