I'm looking for a good gaming headset under $100. I found the Logitech G930s and thought they'd be great because they're wireless, surround sound, and have a built in mic. I saw Linus's video on them and he seemed to like them except for the surround sound which can be turned off.

I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations under $100 that they think would be better than the G930s.

I'm looking for a built in mic, and wireless would be nice too, but is absolutely not necessary.

Thanks for the help.

Wireless is a gimmick. Go with the G35's instead if you absolutely must buy a gaming headset and not headphones + mic.

By the way, gaming headphone threads go in peripherals, yo.

So I should avoid all wireless headphones? I thought it'd be nice so I could watch movies and stuff in my bed without having a wire running across my room.

There are so many issues with it, if watching from your bed without an extension cable is extremely important to you, then maybe you have a case.

Typically they're a no.

I understand where you're foming from but I think they should work well for what I need. I looked up a couple more reviews on Google and pcmag seems to think they're pretty good. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2392901,00.asp

I think I'm going to buy them, they're about $85 on ebay.

I just got them new for $58.80 and free shipping. I don't think I can beat that. Thanks for the help.

By nature they are more prone to failure and lower quality.

Just have a backup for when you have to RMA. It's a good thing you at least have Logitech since their support is good.

like it or hate it I think this years CES is going to have a tonne of wireless audio devices, possibly more than the wired counterparts.

the loss in fidelity is not as great as you imagine

that said I look forward to this years garbage product like that vibrating diet fork from last year.
