I recently bought a Samsung 970 evo to replace my Samsung p951 nvme but for some reason when I try to install Windows it doesn't pick up the drive during the initial install where it asks you where you want to install it. Now I know the drive works as I plugged it into my board while the old drive was in and it picked it up so I know the drive is not faulty. My Nvme drives are plugged in via the dimm.2 slots on my apex x299. I got the latest driver from the Samsung website incase I needed that but again no joy. Any help would be welcome

Go to BIOS.

Advanced Menu.

Onboard Devices Configuration.

PCIEX8_4 Switch Function

Make sure it runs on x4 mode not x8.
