Ok so I have a build that I have been working on for about 4 months now. It's a x370 MSI motherboard

G skill Trident z RAM 16gb

240gb ssd

1tb hdd

Gtx 1060 6gb GPU

and I can currently run it with my A8 9600 without problems, but when I drop in the ryzen 2600x the computer won't even POST, I know the CPU is good as I just sent my last one in and this one is a warranty replacement. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Bios is updated to the latest version for my board. Agesa 1.0.0.4C. Sorry forgot to put that.

Hmm, that's weird.

What's the specific board you own? I know it's an MSI X370 board but like the specific one you own?

Hmm, guess you are on the latest update.

See if RAM interferes, and if nothing else, if you can reset the BIOS settings if the board has jumpers, do that.

Some motherboards have to have two different BIOS versions because the storage of the BIOS chip is not big enough to hold all of the configurations for every CPU. This came about on the ryzen platform because there was too much of a variety of CPUs available for the AM4 socket. Check for an alternative bios meant for the ryzen 2000 series.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Random question, but where do you have the HDMI hooked up?

And try with a single stick or RAM.

Surely on the 1060 not the mobo because the ryzens do not have igpu except for the APU.

I definitly have the displays plugged into the GPU and not the onboard I/O. Tried resetting BIOS to no avail. I just wish I knew what wasn't working, Swapped back to my A8 and everything boots up normally.

I would say contact MSI support but they're usually useless. Maybe AMD support can help?
