Hello guys, so basically i ordered all my parts and they are coming soon by this week or nxt week. My build is 2700x , 450tomahawk, 580 sapphire pulse 8gb, and so on.

I have some question though, after i build it , (my build only has a 480gb ssd), do i need to do any extra step to make the ssd work? I knw that i need to install windows through a pendrive with boot files, but after that, i will freely able to use? And if in the future if i want to add a HDD , i just need to plug in the sata and power cable? Will it automatically appears on "my computer" a new drive, or i need to actually setting it up.

Beside, after i have done my first build later, any recomendation guide outthere what should i do? And the step which first? Update bios, drivers and so on,?(i saw a video on pauls hardware , there are some videos out there telling the fews things to do, but i feel like its not complete.

Is there any recommendation too... After all this done , should i do some test? To make sure ssd , ram, gpu, and cpu all work fine(like the speed, performance, temperature)? Or its just totally unnecessary(because i m jz a newbie beginner , normal gaming and cad engineer works)? Or if its necessary, which program does people normally use? Any suggestion?

Beside that my case is Deepcool Kendomen
http://www.deepcool.com/product/case/2015-02/9_1721.shtml

what is your recommendation for the fans setup? i have searched for about positive , negative , equilibrium, but cant fully understand though.. and if i am putting my computer on the table , do i need the dust filter below my PSU?
about PSU, should i put the fans of psu upside or downside?

So basically i think its this first for today! Thanks for anyone who read until here and helping! Sorry for the bad english though , english is not my native.

Congrats! It will all be worth it.

1)Edited:  You just have to format your SSD before you install your new Windows.

2) When you buy a HDD, you can just plug the two cables in and it will show up in Windows. Just make sure your computer is off when you plug it though!

3) There's a lot of Youtube resources for this: Paul's Hardware, LTT, CareyHolzman, etc.

4) You don't need to test anything unless you wanna know how your computer performs. You can always do a CrystalDiskmark test to see how your SSD performs.

5) Put your fans exactly like how it shows in this picture: 427167b0cc1a45cc915222a627494b40.jpg

6) Dust cover filter goes under PSU.

7) PSU fans are gnerally better when they face down.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | MOBO: MSI B450 Tomahawk GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800XT | RAM: GSkill Trident Z DDR4 3600Mhz | PSU: ADATA Core Reactor 850W 80+ Gold | CASE: Fractal Design Meshify C MONITOR: LG 32UL500-W 4K 60Hz, Gigabyte M27Q 1440p 165Hz

A lot off questions

1. You need to format any new storage device before you use it ,you can format your SSD in the windows installation menu.

2. Also when adding a brand new HDD you need format it before use and split it into partitions (if you need)

3.Then after you install windows you need to install drivers using the manufactures DVD and then update them from the manufactures website (leads to better game play fps)

4. and since its a ryzen it is better to update the bios you will get better memory compatibility and more performance  (bios optimizations).

5. use front fans for intake and rear and top fans for exhaust.

6. Its better to stress test your PC to make sure everything is working fine.

7. PSU fan should be downwards to suck air in to cool the PSU.

8. Its better to have a dust filter for all fans (including psu)

sorry for the long list it is my first reply on linus tech tips !
