why is my fps so bad? when my hardware is pretty good.

i was playing some games like normal great fps but then this happend, the next day i starded up my pc and i was going to play sea of thieves. but then i saw my fps like 20-30 fps when normal it hits 140-150 high settings.

this is some information.

 

taskmanager:

 

cpu usage: 14%

ram usage; 73%

gpu usage: 100%

 

my specs.

cpu: ryzen 5 2600x

gpu: amd RX570

ram: 8GB Ram

OS: Windows 10 pro

 

all video drivers are up todate.

 

if someone can help me i will be thankfull...

it could be a lot of things, have you tried checking the task manager see what's what.

Have you checked the thermals ? Changed any in game setting, temps and lack of ram may be issues.

the problem is not only with sea of thieves but aslo with cs:go, ghost recon wildlands, rainbow six siege and all my other games.

 

gpu C: 50-70C

cpu C: 50-60C

 

the Ram is steady all time.

i'm literally having the same issue but it wasn't an overnight problem, i can play siege fine and by some reason the frames just drop from 60 to 28 on all maps. someone from toshardware told me it can be the mobo VRM throttling, check the thermals on that with a sensor since im pretty sure hwmonitor won't read that

i don't think thats the problem my pc is very cool and i don't think my pc is to hot to trigger the system.

with hwmonitor if the mobo supports it or a thermal sensor

>Task manager >Click on the GPU tab and see whats using the most, if its some sus program then, well, there you go.

Also possible that the gpu isnt going into the correct powerstate and is staying in the idle or 2d mode and the clockspeeds are being gimped. Check MSI afterburner as well.
