Hey everyone, I've been dreaming of doing my first build since I was in middle school. (24 years old now) I now have a great job that allowed me some disposable income. Long story short, I was wondering if there was anything you guys would improve on. Here's my build plan currently. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3PRdGG

The only things I've bought so far are the gpu and cpu. I got a 1070ti FTW2 for $415 and sniped an i7 8700k for $318.

My biggest concerns are the motherboard,  tower (not sure if I should go with a mid or full), and if I'm missing anything. Getting a windows 10 key from a friend and I'll buy the monitor and other things later.

I'm slowly buying these parts until the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. If none of the other parts go on sale than I'll just buy them at a slightly discounted price.

I was also wondering if it's worth it to get liquid cooling.

Sorry for the some-what long post, I'm just excited and don't have many people irl that speak the PC language.

Any help and tips are VERY much appreciated!

Update: I got my hands on a new case and a new ssd. Shout outs to Herman for the help!

It's going to be for gaming most modern triple A titles, more than likely I'm also going to pursue some streaming on the side. I currently use a lot of Adobe suite (photoshop/illustrator/inDesign) on my laptop and it handles it quite nicely so I know this will be able to handle that.

Short answer: Gaming/streaming/editing software/recording

What do you plan om using your build for?

What is your budget?

Does OS/monitor and other peripherals need to be included

My budget will be maybe..1500-1700 solely for the PC itself. As for monitors and peripherals, they're needed of course but I just wanted to focus on the PC build.

More than likely for the monitor though I will be going for a 144 hz 1ms, If not that than I will take any suggestion for a monitor.

So for gaming and streaming, I recommend you to buy a motherboard for gaming, and at the very least 16 GB of RAM. As of the case, depends on how big the motherboard you want to get is (If you get an ATX motherboard - the ones with like 4 16x PCIe ports - you will need a Full Tower case). It also depends on whether you want to water cool your processor, or not.

Thanks! I'll definitely be getting the samsung ssd, So a mid tower will do just fine eh? I figured so, I asked a friend and he said I needed a full. Most pc builds I see run a mid tower though.

Thank you!

Got a MOBO for a suggestion? I do have 16gb, it lists a 2 x 8gb, thanks though!

mid tower as in a smaller ATX case. the SLI plus you picked is fine, "gaming" motherboards are just a bunch of marketing BS, look for one with the features you need.

Ah ok! So a mid ATX, thanks. Simple information that clears it up for me. As for the gaming mobo, I feel that I agree with you. Looking at the specs side by side from the one I selected to the one F1PlayBG has provided shows no differences other than the gagabyte one being a micro and not a full.

Thanks for the help, but I don't see much differences between the one I have chosen and this one other than the size differences with the one you provided being a micro and not a full. Is there any other information that is not provided that shows it's worth the price increase?

the gaming 7 is a regular ATX board, it has much better VRMs for higher overclocks but costs $80-100 more than the SLI plus.

So with my current build and goals would it be worth the extra money?

Also, I know liquid cooling helps but is not necessary, if I'm going to be gaming/streaming/etc, would it be suggested to have it to keep the cpu nice and cool? The cpu will obviously be getting oc'd.

I found this one with great consumer feedback.

Consider a quieter psu. Something like SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 650 Gold or Corsair RM650x (2018).

I'm liking the Corsair one, now I'm debating that one or the one I picked.

May be a dumb question, but how do I know how many decibels a psu is pushing out?
