I'm running a Ryzen 5 2600x with an ASUS 1080

This is a new build.  The computer turns on, all the fans are spinning, but my keyboard isnt lighting up nor can my monitor detect Displayport or HDMI even if it's plugged into the GPU or MOBO (or a mix of both)

it's not bootlooping and im not sure what is going on.

here are my full specs https://pcpartpicker.com/list/z6NZXP

USA Rig CPU: Intel - Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor GPU: GTX 1080

JPN Rig CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor  GPU: GTX 1080

Have you got onboard VGA out? Try that. Sometimes on new builds digital outputs won't work initially.

Try to turn it on using VGA, or onboard HDMI if you have to, with the HDD DISCONNECTED. See if it works then.

Also look for error code LED's on the MB if it supports that.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

this monitor I bought only has a Displayport and HDMI ports, no DVI or VGA

Also it isnt in the case yet so the HDD isnt plugged in.

My mobo has no lights on to speak of.

@megamegamega I had a similar issue when I built my PC with a Ryzen 5 2600X, the issue turned out that the BIOS on my motherboard wasn't updated to support Ryzen Gen 2. So I would get the BIOS updated.

That was my next idea. Not sure how you're going to do this without buying an older cheapest Ryzen chip, or borrowing one, then sending it back..

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

Buying one temporarily, or borrowing I'm afraid..

Well, if you have an old Ryzen CPU you could go that way, or you could go to a local PC repair shop and ask for a BIOS update (Thats what I did). Or borrow a gen 1 CPU and update the BIOS.

im an idiot and there IS an LED mobo indicator, but there were things in the way..

The CPU light is on. So either it cannot detect the CPU or it's faulty
