I need help

Albi

So I’ve been attempting to play a game called Rust which is somewhat unoptimized on my rig and it is impossible to keep it above 50fps I don't know if it's Ram/CPU if my Ryzen 5 1600 needs a much faster Ram sticks or its my PC In general

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 6-Core 3.2 GHz

CPU Cooler: Ryzen Wraith Spire Cooler

GPU: ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1070 STRIX 8GB

MB: MSI B350 TOMAHAWK

RAM: HyperX FURY 16GB

SSD: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5 250GB

HDD: WD Blue 1TB

Case: NZXT S340 Elite Red and Black

Also render distance seems to be major problem since whenever I look at the shore I gain above 80 FPS but I look at main land where huge bases are located I get 40-50 FPS

I'd say look for a FPS guide. Seems this game has major performance issues everywhere.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Yeah I’ve done that didn’t work what amazes me is my cousin has a slightly worse pc than I do and it still manages to get 80 FPS smoothly

What kind of RAM do you have then? Which speed? Is it working properly in dual channel configuration or is it a single stick?

I bemieve it’s a 2400hz 8gb 4gbx2 but has an intel core i5 I’ve always thought that Ryzen cpus  needed much more speed

I mean your RAM. On Intel it doesn't matter much, that's true.

So do you think I should maybe get a higher hz on the ram and check it out

Yeah that's crippling your CPU somewhat. Honestly, DDR4-2666 (which I consider the minimum for Ryzen) isn't and wasn't that much more expensive. You might want to try overclocking the memory a bit and see if that improves performance.

Looks good. With that RAM and a slight CPU overclock, I think you'll get much better overall performance out of your PC.
