Hello, i have currently a good which serves me well. Quick specs: I7 6700k/cyrorig r1 ultimate, 980 ti, 950 evo 500gb, 8x2 2800mhz ddr4. So my plan is to change CPU, Mobo and cpu cooler (i dont think it have am4 mount). Most of the time i game on this PC (CSGO atm, but i like to play all types of games), however i also do video (hd/4k) editing as well as photo editing with Adobe and addition to stream gameplay from time to time. I am planning to upgrade to Ryzen 7 2700/ BeQuiet dark rock pro 4 and ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING.

Questions:

1.  I know higher ram speeds are recommended with ryzen, considering i already have it, would it be worth to sell ram as well? I am not that into ram-overclocking but is possible to oc the ram to compensate for the slower speed, and will this affect the latency negatively? and how dose higher latency affect real world performance?

2. Is it any way to reuse the cyrorig cooler on am4?

3. I am planning to oc the Cpu to a spot it can have over years. How will oc 2700x vs 2700 stack up to each other (none x is ca 60$ cheaper here and i dont need the cooler)?

I live in Norway. All help is greatly appreciated.

No reason to sell your RAM, especially given how expensive memory is right now. It is possible to overclock your memory.

Most people likely wouldn't even notice or care about memory speed, I have no problems running DDR4-2133 with my Ryzen 5 1600. It does everything I need it to at a fast enough speed that I haven't needed or wanted faster memory.

You might need an AM4 adapter bracket to use your current cooler.

2700x is a slightly overclocked 2700. I would personally save money and get the 2700 and overclock if necessary.
