Can't remove screw

Recently I realized that multiple keys on the keyboard of my old laptop stopped working at the same time. Now I decided to open it up, try to reconnect the flex cable and if this doesn't work, get a replacement keyboard. But some of the screws can't be removed by a normal screwdriver. Now I want to ask what to do with screws that either don't spin at all or spin but don't get out of the thread.

Some people recommend using a drill but I don't want to drill out a screw which holds in the motherboard.

No, they aren't.:( I already opened up the whole laptop with the help of a guide when I cleaned it some time ago.

There are holes in the bottom of the laptop with a tiny laptop screw in each one. The screws hold the bottom plate in place. Each hole is 0,5-1,5 cm deep.

It is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L650. I already have a newer laptop but I wanted to get my old one working again.

What type of screw head is it?  Phillips, torx, flat, etc?  If your screwdriver is just slipping it might help to use a newer screwdriver and give it a little more downward force to prevent slippage.

If I have to explain every detail, I won't talk to you.  If you answer a question with what can be found through 10 seconds of googling, you've contributed nothing, as I assure you I've already considered it.

 

What a world we would be living in if I had to post several paragraphs every time I ask a question.

It is a Phillips and the screwdriver is exactly the right size and is in like new condition.
