Hi, I'm 12, and I need serious help. The problem is I live in a family of low-life degenerate apple lovers. Which is bad. I hate apple and thus I feel trapped and enslaved in my family's ignorant and frankly stupid views on technology. I have wanted to build a PC for several years now but it has been frankly impossible because of

a) My family's complete dislike of anything "not beautiful"

b) My low pocket money and no birthday or christmas money and

c) My insatiable obsession with Shopkins

(Just joking about the last one, don't worry)

After 5 years I think I may have just under £500 and was wondering if anyone could give me a list of parts I could use( I will also happily buy off eBay) and I will also probably need a mouse and keyboard.

Also if necesary (or possible) I could build a cheaper one now with an APU and add on a GTX 1050 Ti after.

Thanks for Reading

£500 is a decent amount of money to have saved up, good work!

What games are you hoping to play on your new gaming machine?
Depending on what games you are going to be playing, I'd say at that budget your best bet would be an APU as you suggested, with the possibility of adding a dedicated graphics card, such as the GTX1050 Ti later.

Will you also require a monitor (screen) as well?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

well if your family is apple lover, you should somehow have some budget?? considering the premium of Macs and phones...

CPU: Ryzen 2400g

Mobo: Asrock B450m Pro

DDR4 ram: 2x4Gb 3000hz

Made this the other day.

Only thing that needs to be sources used it the GPU which should be obtainable for 160£.

@Herman McpootisMcpootis you guode the rest of the way. Im kind of in the middle of class.

@Shglam hopefully the case is "apple" enough. Also dont call anyone skum. Only people who call people skum are skum. Some may be uneducated within hardware, but so is 99,5% of the population.

i was going to suggest a tempered glass built as he said the family dislikes anything that isn't beautiful and man when shopping for cases my friend was over (Loves apple products) and he admitted that the case i was looking at was beautiful, though after adding everything else it probably couldn't be afforded (example of a tempered glass build pictured below)

I get chills just looking at it though the case alone is probably sitting around the budget for the build

Something such as this might be a good starting point for things to look at, but depending on what games you are hoping to play I may tweak a few things. This is just to give you a general idea of the cost of the parts and what sort of parts you could be looking at.

This does not include the cost of an operating system, such as Windows 10. You will need to allow for the cost a copy of that as well.

If you need mouse + keyboard, I'd recommend just grabbing whichever is the cheapest bundled kit on amazon or a local store. Maybe for a future birthday or something you can get a prettier keyboard with RGB if you like, but for now just the cheapest will do.

Dammit @GoldenLag. Do you have any idea how long I had to stare at that thinking "How the... did he manage to get a system with a graphics card for 160 pounds to come out to only 413 pounds?". I kept going back and looking at my build thinking I accidentally added an extra SSD or extra RAM by mistake for mine to be so much more expensive. Took me way too long to realise the cost of the graphics card isn't included in the PCPartPicker total. :D

Reworked my magic. The GPU is 100% a placeholder. Get a R9 290x for around 150-160£ and your are good. I dont have time to snoop around the web just yet.

@Spotty sorry for your inconvenienses. I assumed it would convert from the US build. In that build it worked out.

Ah you've had it set in US then switched over to UK and it didn't pick it up? I've had that happen a few times or show the part as $0 if it can't find any local stores selling it. Annoying because if you switch over to a different currency you're not familiar with and don't notice it you think you are getting a really good deal :D

Possible that OP needs a monitor as well as peripherals, as it appears that they don't have a PC they're upgrading from, but we still need confirmation whether or not they require a monitor.

yeah, i forgot that pcp doesnt like it much. (actually its the first time im doing it)

if he needs a monitor we could step down the GPU to an HD 7850 or HD 7770. we can fit a generic 100£ monitor into the budget. or we can run with a cheap APU setup.
