so I have a loud keyboard.. any chance I could block the frequency range that the keys create(clicking and bottoming out) from running through to my game/stream so it seems that the mic isn't picking it up?

its 3am so if anything needs clarification just ask cause it probably doesn't make sense.

K any way I could filter out sudden sharp sounds? Or is there a reliable noise gate?

If you have large diaphragm condenser (AT2020, Blue Yeti etc.) there is almost nothing you can do. Noise gate will help to filter keyboard sounds while you are silent, however when speaking there is nothing you can do to eliminate keyboard noise. What can help is to move microphone really close to your mouth and lowering the gain to the minimum acceptable level.
