If your motherboard supports m.2 m+b key drives, go with that one. Note that most motherboards will disable 2 SATA ports to make room for the m.2 drive (for some reason)

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

The specific M.2 he showed will run at sata speeds, so there is no difference between the 2.

I would go for the slightly cheaper 2.5in drive

Personally neither because WD Green SSDs run at a snail's pace by SSD standards, unless these two are significantly cheaper than drives like the Adata SU800, Kingston UV400, SK Hynix SL308 etc.

 

As for M.2 versus 2.5", they have the same speed so it's just the matter of 'do you mind using more space on SSD'.

Yes, but the small form factor leaves availability for things like reduced space, allowing the removal of a drive cage in some scenarios. It also improves ease of cable managing. It's another couple bucks for convenience really.

Yes, it depends on OP's case and available space.
