Hello,

I have a dell inspiron i7559 and I just did a clean install of windows onto my new ssd. Before the clean install, whenever i plugged something into the headphone jack I got a pop-up that asked me what it was (mic in, headphones, headphones with mic, etc.).  I assume it was some sort of dell program that popped up. After the clean install,  I no longer get a pop-up to tell the laptop what i just plugged in and windows only lets me use the port as audio out. I was wondering if anybody knew of a way to tell windows what i plug into the single 3.5mm jack

That was it! I didn't see that driver. I got the dell support assist and thought that the driver check thing would've installed all drivers i needed
