What PSU should I get that can power a 1080 ti if overclocked.

What's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

Why the horrible overpriced AIO, and Case with no airflow?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Should probably buy your monitor before buying a 1080ti, as unless it's 1440p 144hz or 4k 60hz the 1080ti will be a waste

If you haven't delidded the 8700K you should do that before throwing a giant cooler on it.

The H500P Mesh should support a 360mm AIO in the top, has 2 200mm RGB fans otherwise.

Question for the monitors you provided. Do you think it would stutter, screen tear or throttle?

Screen Tearing may happen without adaptive sync, but you can just use fast-sync on the 60hz display, and on the 144hz display screen tearing will be less noticeable anyways.

A good 550W is plenty. The G2 is available at a good price. For higher end ones, you have the Whisper M and RMx 2018.

For an 8700K OC and a 1080ti OC?

Yes

Better off with a 750W or 850W unit so you're never worried about hitting it's limit, and if you can afford an 8700K and 1080ti you can easily afford a higher end PSU

With a good 550W, you won't have to worry either.

And if they're spending ~$120-130 on a PSU, they might as well get the Dark Power Pro 11 550W or Prime Ultra Titanium 650W, instead of a lower end, higher wattage PSU.

:)

I'm pretty sure continuous wattage is more important than a slightly more stable PSU at that point.

That'd be like not buying a decent 1000W PSU with an SLI set up.

Eh, I'd prioritise a nicer and quieter PSU rather than getting even more wattage.

GN has a bunch of case reviews, the best thing to buy is probably an H500 as it has the best airflow.

If you take off the front panel of most other cases they become comparable.

Buying the quieter PSU gets you the quieter PSU.

The obvious example is the G3. The 1000W model spins its fan at 1650RPM at 400W. Then, the RM750x 2018 spins at 610RPM at 450W. The HX750 spins at 710RPM at 450W.

The Prime Ultra Titanium spins its fan at 290RPM at 455W (the Hong Hua fan has a really weird RPM curve), and the Dark Power Pro 11 550W spins it's fan at 450RPM at 440W.

450W being roughly where the system should be in terms of power draw when overclocked.

Yes, however if heavily OCing both I would get a 650W. Still no need for something like an 850W unit. That's what's generally recommended for two 1080 Tis...

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

That isn't true. You can buy a high wattage Corsair TXM and that's louder than a low-wattage Corsair CXM. If you want a quiet PSU then buy a quiet PSU. Fan size/bearing, heat dissipation capabilities, and, to some degree, efficiency, affect how much a fan has to work and, in turn, how loudly.

Aren't most modern high end PSUs going to have a 0db mode while they operate under a certain temperature?
