First of all sorry if this isn't the right place for this. I recently picked up a asus rx 580 dual 4gb to replace my aging 780, it's a great card and I got a solid boost in performance, however temps on memory were getting quite hot so i took the card apart to maybe clean it or replace thermal pads, only to find that the cooler doesn't make contact with the memory at all. My current plan is to get some extra case fans to blow into the side of the card to push air over the memory, how effective would this be at keeping the memory cool? I was also looking at buying an aftermarket cooler but I can't seem to find one for this board. Thanks

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

No, the cooler doesn't make any contact with the memory whatsoever

Is it a MSI armor?

get some thermal pads and repaste with MX-4.

No, it's this asus card, they would have to be fairly thick thermal pads to reach but I guess it's worth a shot

It turns out it is a fairly large issue with this card, it's been widely complained about on newegg
