Game chat won't work

When playing Fortnite on my home WiFi I can't hear or speak to others using game chat. However, when I'm at a friends house it works fine. I have already tried to allow the app through the firewall on both private and public networks. Any ideas? My thought is that it has something to do with my WiFi.

It's either ports not opening automagically in order to use voice chat, or your IP has been banned from using voice chat. I'd contact Epic Games to find out what ports are needed for voice chat to work, then login to your modem or router and configure port forwarding to open these up.
