NVLink, possible 2x performance?

I don't see a lot of YouTubers talking about NVlink, so far it has only been Jayztwocents and Gamers nexus talking about the possibility, I'm curious, will it double the performance? Anyone else to comment?

I doubt it will double the performance, but it does let you use all your VRAM, so if you used two 2080 Ti's that'd be an insane 22GB of VRAM shared between them. SLI disables the VRAM on one of the cards so without NVLink you only have 11GB (or 8GB on a 2080/1080 or 2070/1070).

SLi doesn't disable VRAM. It just doesn't pool the memory. You need both cards to have the same (mirrored) data.

 

Also the memory pooling is just a Quadro/Tesla thing. Not an option for GeForce cards. Or maybe nvidia have finally done it.
