CPU 8 pin broken?

Go to solution Solved by GamerNerd_01,

Quick update I just turned it on again this time it did not shut off! YAY! but the mobo also lit on fire so, I think I'm going to RMA it. Thanks for the help tho!

I recently took my PSU from one system used it and brought it back to the original system. When I plugged it back in, it would turn on for not even a second they shut off. It was able to stay on if you were to unplug the 8 pin CPU plug on the motherboard. Why would this be happening? My CPU does not need much power it is only a Celeron by Intel.

It might not be able to provide the necessary power on that rail to power on the CPU, and not much will happen without the CPU getting power.

Will a different PSU yield the same result?

The same result happens with a new PSU. @Crunchy Dragon
