I was looking to purchase a new windows  laptop that could handle photo editing on photoshop but not necessarily need the strength to game since i won't be using it for that. There are so many different products out there that its unclear to me what the best option is. Any suggestions?

Xps, inspiron, or a razer blade for video editing.

Where are you from? Budget? Preferred max weight and how many hours of battery life?

I live in Canada and under 3000$ would be preferable. I would need something that has a pretty long battery life since id be using it for school as well. Weight wont really be a factor in my purchase.

If you need the most CPU power, Gigabyte Aero 15/15X with LM+undervolt (buy from resellers like GentechPC for LM application)
