Dell Inspiron 5570 vs Dell XPS 13

Hello everyone,

Consider the Dell Inspiron 5570,

Processor: Intel i7 8550U

RAM: 16GB

SSD: 256 GB

Screen: 15.6" FHD

GPU: AMD Radeion 530

Price: $770

And now consider the Dell XPS 13,

Processor: Intel i7 8550U

RAM: 16 GB

SSD: 512 GB

Screen: 13.3" QHD

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620

Price: $1380

Now my main question is, other than the QHD screen and the 512GB SSD, are there any other factors which make the XPS worth almost twice as much as the Inspiron 5570 even though there shouldn't be that much of a performance difference since they both have the same processor and RAM.

Not really.  The XPS series are nicer to touch and use, but the performance of these 2 machines will be VERY close.

If you don't need the better screen and don't care about the better build quality (The Inspiron is still pretty nice) then I wouldn't get the XPS.

if anything the smaller size of the xps might negatively affect thermals but not by much

Inspiron 5000 series is meh and has bad value

Where are you from? Budget? Usage? Preferred weight, display size and battery life?

FYI i5 8250U and i7 8550U don't have much performance difference. Also in some models you can upgrade RAM+storage manually (usually cheaper)

Desktop specs:

I'm mostly going to use it for web development. But I have a heavy workflow that requires a lot of ram like regularly running virtual machines and multiple servers locally etc.

I don't have a specific budget but I will buy whatever I thinks is adequate.

As for specs

Screen: at least FHD 1080p, both 13" and 15" are acceptable

RAM: 16gig

SSD: atleast 256GB

Processor: i5 or i7 8th Gen
