Hi, I noticed this while overclocking once. I was going for 5.4ghz and in turn turned my vcore to 1.5v and my ram overclock off, and down from 1.5v Dram to 1.2v, and my temperatures dropped from my stable 5.3ghz voltage by about 10°c. even though i had this insane vcore.

Once investigating - these were my results

Vcore 1.36v

Dram 1.5v

Temps = 80-86°c (prime95 26.6)

Vcore 1.36v

Dram 1.025v

Temps = 55-60°c (prime95 26.6)

Vcore 1.424v

Dram 1.2v

Temps = 74-80°c (prime95 26.6)

Can someone explain this? What I thought in my head was the IMC was just getting hot... but someone on another thread told me the voltage isnt even routed through there on my current system. (In my signature)

Any insight here would be appreciated :) I'd love to learn more.

How though? Isnt the imc basically tiny? This temperature rise I'd expect from adding 2 cores or something

Yeah. Honestly that is the only variable i could think of. Were all other voltages the same such as ring bus voltage etc...?

yes the only thing changed was the Dram voltage. odd really.
