I am currently looking at the sennheiser game zeros, but I think that I will need a soundcard or something to power the headphones a little more.  I currently have an Asus P8H61-M LE/CSM R2.0.  I have a mini 1060 6gb and 16gb of ram if that is at all relevant.  What kind of soundcard will I need?  I assume it is PCI-E, so would something like this work and be enough to power my a game zero?

The stock sound should be fine

Here's the thing about that, internal pci-e sound-cards have and still do suffer from "noise" due to all the magic pixies flowing through your pc.
If it's powering a pair of headphones for anything remotely serious I'd highly recommend an external DAC, preferably using SPDif but if you don't have that port you could use an add-on card or just use USB.

Could you recommend anything in particular?  Something inexpensive?

I would hope so, but from what I have read a sound card boosts the audio quality drastically.

Sound cards are a gimmick. I use the massdrop equivalent of the Zero's and have them connected to a $99 usb dac/amp that I already had. Sound does sound better vs stock mb audio.
