go to the webpage for the mobo listing and see if it states ryzen 2000-series ready. if it does, it'll work without needing an update. otherwise, get a B450 board.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

i am making a part list for my build. i want a ryzen 5 2400g build but pcpartpicker says that some motherboards need BIOS updates before being able to use the 2400g. is there any specific motherboard i can buy without worrying about BIOS updates?

thanks

It should be fine if the mobo was made after november 2017. If you are buying frim like newgg or amazon, you should be fine

Also, on the B450, as I just assembled a pc out of a Strix B450 ITX.... be aware to check out the power delivery on the Graphics side.  The ITX board I have only has 1 phase, but I'm using external graphics and a 2600. I wouldn't run this motherboard (Strix ITX) if I was running a APU.
