One 2TB WD Black or two 1TB WD Black Hard Drives?

legend8887

For my new build I'm wondering if I should get a one 2TB HDD or two 1TB HDD's and set them up in RAID 0. Already used about 630GB in this PC that I'm going to sell.

I'd say one 2TB but the RAID 0 will have more read/write speed.

What's the system being used for? Why raid?

I want maximum performance. Gaming and maybe some video editing.

If you want maximum performance, go put some enterprise pci-e ssd's in raid 0.

For one, caviar blacks aren't worth the money over the quite cheaper and slightly slower barracudas. Also, you can put 3 barracudas in raid 0 for the price of 2 blacks--not that I'd recommend it. Hard drives in raid 0 are only useful for loading large media files onto a scratchdisk for editing.
