How much will compressing my drive save space?

The zip wont compress more. Videos and images wont compress significantly. pdfs, maybe a bit more there. You could just try them but it depends on their contents. Just be aware you'll likely increase fragmentation a lot by compressing a disk, so you might want to run a defrag afterwards assuming it is a HD. Being realistic, start looking at getting another bigger drive. At best compression will buy you some time.

I have an 500GB external hard drive, and I've used up almost all of it. I mostly have video files (and no, it's not what you think it is.).

To be exact, I have about 360GB of videos, a 40GB zip file, 11GB of pdfs, 5GB of images, and so on. Will enabling the compress drive option in the properties save much space? Thanks.
