Yeah I doubt it’ll run that hot on other things you run but that seems darn high. You should try reseating the cooler and using new thermal paste or something and see if it goes down

I did some research.. 86c is way to hot. My ryzen 7 1700 doesnt go above 60c under gaming load (its the stock Cooler)  is your thermal paste old? If so you should try to put on some new paste

under gaming load

That's the thing: small FTTs is a test that mostly fits inside the CPU-cache and heavily stresses AVX. A gaming-load is a completely different beast and won't heat up the CPU anywhere near as much.

I'm hitting all the way up to 96°C on small FTTs myself :( Not much I can do about it, either :(

When I am gaming, it never goes higher than 70 °C.

Like I just said above, that's a meaningless comparison; a heavy AVX-load that runs entirely from the cache will put an enormous load on the CPU, a gaming-load isn't anywhere near the same thing.

Should be no problem. Id still try to reseat and put some new paste on. 70 is still alittle to high for such a expensive cooler isnt it?
