I'm not a guru of photography or videography but I want to buy a DJI Phantom 3 because it is fairly cheap and I want to gen a new perspective for my hollydays and different events where I attend. Can someone tell me what to check when I'm buying a drone? Mechanically I know the basics (it is not my first drone) but at camera is where i lag behind.

Thanks in advance.

check lens and visible exterior condition of camera and gimbal mount for wear tear damage. if the battery has charge put it in and power the drone to see if camera gimbal operates well

for travel drone i prefer mavic than phantom, compact easier to carry

yeah what would i know about cameras or cinematography compared to you tech people.  i've only done this work for nearly 20 years, won a few awards, worked in over a dozen different countries and a few multi million dollar projects
