Schiit Stack (Magni 3 and Modi 2) is good for a general purpose DAC. TBH, an internal sound card like the Asus Strix Soar or Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 would serve you just as well, and it doesn't take up any space on your desk.

The trouble is, I was using a Xonar DG sound card and was getting static noises from the back panel. I then used the front panel and the noise was gone.

Now, as of yesterday the sound card is dead all together.

Now instead of buying another sound card and risking the EMI again I thought I would go straight to a external DAC.

A digital out would be very good as I use the PC to run a projector home theater setup too.

I really only have a prefered budget (this doesnt really matter though) of about $200 AUD.
