USB 3.0 Adaptor

Go to solution Solved by mopman94,

Your best options are

USB3->USB2 internal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812201039

and

PCIe USB3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1NV1924494

There might be something for that internal cable to external port but thats just too much cableing imo.

I've found one on the UK Amazon, required some specific wording. Thanks for the help :)

Hey, so it turns out the motherboard I have is not the one in the build specs in my signature... yeah... only took 9 months to actually notice, I mean my motherboard is a totally different colour and brand an... we will just pretend this didn't happen.

But anyway the reason I am telling you this is so you don't refer to that parts list for this question for now, my motherboard is actually a MSI 970A-G46. Although it has USB 3.0 ports on the back it does not have a USB 3.0 connection on the board for the two front panel ports I have. My question is if such an adapter exists for me to plug them into the regular USB pins on the motherboard (and thus just get USB 2.0 speeds through them) or an adapter to feed them round the back to the USB 3.0 ports I have on the back?

The first option would be better for me as I would gain 2 USB ports rather than just moving two to the front.

Thanks in advance

Mopman

The first link you posted is exactly what I need, I live in the UK though and can't find it on any UK shopping sites :'(

No problem. I just used Newegg as example since most people here link either to it or NCIX.
