Barebones alien fx lighting??

so I want to change my alienware's light colors (aroura r4), but the software breaks my pc if I use it. I had bestbuy take a look at it and the aienware temperature software just WONT work with my pc. Does anyone know a Barebones way to change the Alienware lights without temperature monitoring software??
