Windows 10 Blue/Purple Screen after CD/DVD Boot

elbarto.2

This is kind of the second part to my problem, here is the link to the first thread if you need to read it.

Earlier, I burned the .iso file on to a cd.  I then booted up my computer, went into the BIOS, and inserted the CD into my CD/DVD reader.  I changed the boot order so that my normal boot disk was disabled and the CD/DVD reader was the first in the order.  I exited the BIOS, and when it said, "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD," I did.  It displayed the normal screen (with the Windows logo and the spinning dots) then went to a blue/purple screen with a cursor if I moved or clicked the mouse.  Is this screen good/bad?

Specs:

  • Windows 10 Home 64bit
  • i7-6700K
  • MSI Z170A Gaming M5
  • HyperX Fury 16GB (2x8) DDR4-2400
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB G1 Gaming
  • Hyper 212 EVO
  • EVGA 650GQ 80+Gold 650W
  • OWC Mercury 120GB SSD (drive with OS)
  • Samsung 850EVO 250GB
  • Toshiba 2TB HDD (don't know the specific model number, got it out of box)
  • BIOS Version- E7977IMS.180

The SSD I would normally boot off of if this problem weren't happening.

Edit: It just came up with a box saying, "It looks like you started an upgrade and booted from installation media. IF you want to continue with the upgrade, remove the media from your PC and click Yes. If you want to perform a clean installation instead, click No."

Can't disable your SSD, just move it down the boot order list. Some causes for it to get stuck at the stage you're talking about.

Bad disc image -Try burning another disc

Remove a stick of ram

Just wait for like 5-10 minutes and eventually it will start up.

physically disconnect your non OS drives.

If you're doing a clean install, then click No.

So I could have clicked yes and my system would return to normal?

No, because it still needs a working os.
