Hello,

So I have this new Asus Vivobook S laptop with an 8250U 8GB RAM and MX150.

When I set the battery performance (while charging) to "Best performance" my cpu speed changes to 3.35 GHz ish, while my cpu usage is around 5% all of this while idle.

When I set it to "better performance" it changes the speed to 1.25GHz ish and the same when I set it to "Longer battery life".

When I don't charge the battery and set to "Longer battery life" the speed changes to around 1GHz and on "Best performance" it sits around 1.25GHz

I used cpu-z and it changes constantly from like 800MHz to 3000MHz, it changes quick and suddenly

Is this normal? I bought my laptop a month ago and while I was using GIMP and it started to really slow down I looked at the task manager it showed me this.

My pc sits around 0.9GHz while idle so is there a virus or something? ( I already tried scanning with norton and bitdefender with no outcome)

But the thing is, I have a cheaper laptop and that one doesn't max out the cpu speed while idle?
