Help with MOBO fan connection

so above in my motherboard.  I got a new case now that case has fans with 4 pins, as you see on my motherboard I only have 2x 3 pins connection and 1 x 4 pin connection( for CPU cooler fan).

 

 1. And I was wondering how I'm going to connect this with my three pins would it work on my three pins?

 

2. can I get a splitter for the 4 pin CPU Cooler fan and connect the cooler and the fans through that one connection Or will that cause problems?

 

and yes I will get a new motherboard in the future for now I'm trying to get this to work thank you to anyone who can help me.

You can get a power 4 pin PWM splitter that will group all the fans together and ensures they all run on PWM. It is possible to also plug in a 4 pin fan into a 3 pin header and over hang it but it will only run in DC voltage mode.

My 2 cents

 

If you put all your fan on a PWM controller they they will spin up and down with the temperature.

 

The flip side will be the noise, as they spin up and down.

 

I would get a hub and try a constant speed vs noise and temp setting.

 

Of  course some fans are so quiet, that there is ,no noise at any speed.

don't use the CPU header

 You can connect fans to SATA would that have the ability to do fan control bite self

 So I just read SATA to Fan  cannot be controlled only the motherboard I'm just really lost I guess I just use the three pins and  have constant full power.

 

Is there any downfall to this except for noise which doesn't matter to me?

OK here's the deal I just want my system to stay cool I want to fans to be working and doing his job as for noise I really don't care for as long as it doesn't sound like a jet engine

So from my understanding, the 4th pin on a fan header provides the PWM functionality. If you just run the 3 pins you want have an intelligent fan that adapts to temp or current load. It just runs at a stock speed. So if you're ok with that then go ahead. And that stock speed is adjusted in BIOS.

 

If you're gaming on the machine, it would suggest putting it one a higher setting but not the max necessarily, keep an eye on your temps and adjust as necessary.

you could overload it by drawing too many current if you daisy chain a lot of fans, that's why there are other headers in the mobo

that extender could damage the header as it doesn't has any extra power connector and relies only on the mobo

 

you have 2 main options

1) use the 3pin headers and speedfan

2) get a case fan controller (not a hub/strip/extender, those are different)

set every header to "auto" in the BIOS setup and you should be able to modify the speed using the program

certain fans might fully stop at 55% speed due to the voltage being lower than 7V

 One more question I only have two fan pins on my motherboard and need three fans to be plugged in is it all right to use a splitter on one of the fan pin on the motherboard for two of the fans

The reocmmendation was if your are running all 4 pin fans is to use a power PWM hub, if you run any 3 pin fans on that hub it will only run at full speed. A powered PWM hub only works with 4 pin PWM fans and takes in auxillary power so your not taking any current from the fan header on the motherboard itself. 

 

You can use regular splitters on a fan header also but note the amperage of the fans and that you do not exceed the rated amperage, usuallty it's 1 amp.

I only have one 4 pin on my MOBO and it the CPU FAN so would this work to join my 4 fans and CPU Cooler fan with out hurting anything

Yes it will work, that has an auxiliary sata power input same as that previous swiftech unit so the fans will all be group controlled.
