Posted August 9, 2018 I have a domain that i have used for years. Mail.example.com points to google with a CName and MX records so I log directly into my g suite account. I am trying to set up "cams.example.com" with that directed to my home (static) ip address/server. this also has to be specifically directed to port 81. Can anyone help me with this? I will keep looking. Posted August 10, 2018 What issue are you having? It's easy to specify a nonstandard port like http://cams example.com:81 I wouldn't submit any credentials without ssl or VPN however. Im just trying to figure out how to do it. you say its easy, but the only way i have found is to setup a nginx webser with reverse proxy on the same machine. another guy tells me it should all be port 443 traffic (https) instead of port 80... i hear what their saying. makes sense, i just cant figure out how to make it happen! I dont want to put to big of a gaping security hole in my home network! Posted August 10, 2018 The more secure solution would be to establish a VPN and connect to your cams over that once you authenticate. I have a VPN for my personal stuff, this should be public. **public but with credentials System: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mgX2hq Passmark: https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V9/display.php?id=91527558160
