cherry mx blue

i've been using it for around 3 years now and im still happy with it

i have a razer orange switch keyboard too but that's just gathering dusts

Spoiler

the one im using is cherry blue

the one at top is razer orange, which i never touch at all

i've went keyboard shopping after using my cherry blue for a year, and when i saw an advert for "blue switches" i went to tap it

1 tap later and i can tell it's not cherry blue... it was kailh blue switch and i didnt like it... felt cheap and the click isnt as sharp as cherry's

as for why im not using the razer keyboard, the switches are very inconsistent across the keyboard, the feeling is very different between keys (in my opinion, im very picky after using the mx blues)

i always recommend cherry switches to people

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Cherry MX Speed Silver, by a longshot. I used to be put off rather heavily by mechanical keyboards, because for a while I was under the impression that ALL of them were clicky, which bugged me, and then when I found the linear ones like MX Reds I found that despite the smooth feeling, there was just too much travel for my liking. Some people think the last 8 years I spent hammering on laptop scissor-switches is a factor, which is probably fair, but I also think that there's a definite feel factor to it built into my fingers at some point. At some point or another I'd like to try my hand at making a custom keyboard entirely out of microswitches, as I quite like the feeling of those.

Anyway, the new Speed Silvers seem like they were made with me in mind, with that smooth linear feel but significantly less travel overall. Too bad they only come on a limited number of devices...

What is a mad scientist but a wizard who writes things down?
