Hi,

Upcoming of the year 2017 holiday season I purchased a hp notebook, this one here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-17-x000-notebook-pc-series/11203107/model/11926644

Around june of last year how ever, i managed to close the screen with my microphone at the hinge causing the computer to overload and overall ruining the display's backlight (aka no brightness in the screen)

be the kid i was, I had multiple shop's look into it, one local shop said it was somthing to do with my power, while another shop said exactly what it was, the back light. so after having my display replaced i mannaged to get my laptop running again, how ever when i used my laptop the next time i noticed it was ENCREDIBLY slower, i mean it took nearly 5 - 10 minuets to load one google chrome page, opeing any applications also deemed realy slow.

took it back to the shop that fixed the notebook, to see what the problem was then, i was simply told it was either the ram or the mother board.

I also have an acer Aspire touch screen laptop, with windows 8.1 on it

its deal is it works perfectly fine exept for when it comes down to the battery / motherboard. Sence iv'e owned it straight from staple's it's had battery issue's, when we had a 2 month warrenty on the machine we sent it in after only having it for 2 day's nearly 4 weeks later we recived the laptop back from the store, simply all they did was give a new charger and charge nearly +$50 for shipping, after we nearly 7 day's later the same issue's happened again were it wouldn't power on without being plugged constantly. Sending out once again while we still had a warrenty, they did the same thing as last time giving a new charger. And guess what happened nearly 4 days after getting the laptop back? it again wouldn't boot without a charger plugged in. and by the time we got the laptop back, our warrenty had expired with us only getting nearly 8 - 9 hours of use on the machine.

So this is wear i need help finding

A.) if the Hp is a ram or motherboard problem

B.) Do i keep the laptop's? or sell them online as part's (hp has a i3, and 16 gig's of ram with 1T of storage, the acer is 8 gig's ddr3 intel graphic's, intel celerion, and 500 hdd)

if B then what should i charge? the hp frame is terrible as you cant close it (broken hinge) acer is perfectly fine no scratches or anything.

You pretty much have the same HP laptop as me, but mines is the HP 250 G5 version with an i3-6006u, 4GB DDR4 and a WD 500GB drive. The only reason that the HP laptop is slow is cause the drive is a Western Digital Black Edition 5400rpm drive, and that is just to save power. All you have to really do is get a 7200rpm 2.5" HDD or get an SSD like I'm doing right now and have it as the boot drive. Also the shop could have installed bloatware, so maybe do a fresh install of Windows 10.
