Hi,

i am planning to buy two or three high-end GPUs for Rendering and want to mount them in a 4U server-case. My only option to mount 3 x120mm fans is in the middle of the chassis.

My question is: Would there be any significant difference by going the liquid-cooling route for the GPUs ? I mean the amount of heat would be same for air-cooling or liquid-cooling. The advantage of liquid cooling is, as i understand it, to transfer (and isolate) heat quicker from one place to another... but when the other place is in the middle of the chassis, i am not so sure anymore if liquid cooling will bring actually any advantages?

Would be great to hear your opinion on that.

Server racks are great for creating a tunnel of airflow, and they're generally installed in places where you don't give a shit about noise level so you install 3000 rpm industrial fans.

3x120mm radiator isn't enough of an increase in surface area vs. air cooling to make it worth it IMO if you're running 2 GPUs.

Why are you running a server case vs. a regular case?
