Adjust as u see fit if you NEED to get under $700. Perhaps drop to 8Gb RAm for now, or make do without a SSD untill later.

At this price point a AMD Ryzen CPU is a much better choice than an Intel i5.

Make sure the motherboard you get for the Ryzen CPU has its Bios pre updated (check with retailer) to enable use with the newer 2600 over the older 1600.

Building a PC using just of the shelf parts (no customizing, no water loop etc), is like Adult LEGO. Almost everything can only go in 1 place, those that can go in differntly are easy to know where they should go.

For example the graphics card should go in the PCI-E slot closest to the CPU.

The RAM should go in matching color slots , the specific ones noted in your motherboard manual.

Beyond that everything else is self evident.

The hardest part for a inexperienced builder is choosing the parts, which your getitng help form here. After that its just LEGO :)

An evening after work ,or 2, is all thats needed. 1st Evening put the hardware together, 2nd evening installing the OS and your programs/games.

The final benefit for building it yourself is price and Perfomance. You will get more performance for a lower cost building it yourself the vast majority of the time.
