I just got an Nvidia Shield and want to use it in console mode and need an awesome wireless controller. I want to use an xbox 360 controller ideally, or at least something with similar ergonomics. I was wondering if I could use a wireless xbox 360 controller with an otg adapter or does android not have the right drivers. I'm wiling to do a workaround. I was also curious if you can charge through a usb hub.

I doubt it will work. It works fine with Mouse/keyboard, but you can always try if you have the adapter.

I only have a wired xbox controller for my PC and don't want to drop $ on something I may not be able to use/need. Do you guys know of any awesome Bluetooth controllers?

You have almost certainly gotten a response elsewhere by now, but in case you haven't:

YES! An Xbox 360 controller works wonderfully with the NVIDIA Shield, in fact, I was just using mine about 30 minutes ago. I use a wireless one meant for windows (comes with a little dongle that plugs into an OTG cable). It's great for when you are playing on a TV.

Here's a good OTG Cable: http://www.amazon.com/Bluecell-Micro-Cable-Cellphone-Tablet/dp/B00AYPEL56/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1393953721&sr=8-5&keywords=otg  (It's actually 3, but the price is fantastic, and since it's straight, it doesn't interfere with other plugs)

You can also use things like USB hubs (I recommend a nice AC-powered one) to use multiple devices. A controller, a flash drive, a hard drive, a keyboard, a mouse. Android has lots of options.

Another great thing to get for the Shield is a USB to Ethernet Adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Ethernet-Network-Chromebook-Specific/dp/B00484IEJS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393953837&sr=8-1&keywords=pluggable+usb+ethernet). If you plug that into you router, you will get a much faster and more stable connection to your comp, at the sacrifice of a little portability, that being said, I rarely find myself walking around while gaming, so it works for me!

I've been experimenting a lot with my Shield and what does and doesn't work, so if you have any questions, please let me know!

My Build
i7-4790k @4.6GHz, 16GB GSkill Ares RAM, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming G1, Strix 970, RM1000 PSU, 128GB Sandisk SSD, 1TB Barracuda, 3TB WD Green, CM Storm Scout II
