I have been using a MacBook now since 2012, and have made the decision to get back onto the windows OS. I have never built my own machine but am very excited to do so. I have $1,000 USD to spend on this, also will be able to get windows 10 on campus for free. I use photoshop often and have been using visual studio a lot lately for class. I don’t want to spend more than I need on the computer itself( buy an additional 27” monitor) . I would like to run at least two monitors. The issue I am having is decided if an i5 will be good enough or do I spend more for the i7. Also have been looking into many GPU’s simply to run 2 - 3 monitors at 1080. I do not plan on doing much gaming. There are so many GPU’s I am so confused on what to choose

I have : windows 10 OS, Mouse, Keyboard, one 27” monitor, one 19” monitor

Thanks for any help

Your main concern with modern-day GPUs and multi-monitor setups are just making sure that you have enough connectors.

Just thought I'd share that; also, I'd get an i7 if you'll be using a lot of Photoshop.

I chose the case randomly to get the price. It's not a perfect list but I hope it helped you in some way.

i5 8400 doesn't have hyper threading so if you want to have 6 core 12 threads, I will suggest getting i7 8700 which is $350 or use ryzen system list made by @geo3
